Trip ignored the club secretary and turned to Sig. “Make sure the sweet butts prep for a full-out pig roast to celebrate, yeah?”
The VP asked, “We got the scratch for that?”
“For that? Yeah. We’ll scrape it together. We gotta eat either way, right?” Trip turned to Dodge. “Get the band to set up in the courtyard on the rollback, yeah?”
The bar manager nodded. “Least they can do for the free room and board they’ve been gettin’.”
“Might be time to build a platform out there,” Deacon suggested.
Trip glanced in his direction. “We got the scratch for that?”
Deke tipped his head to the side.
“Right,” Trip continued. “That’s gonna have to wait ’til we finish payin’ off Diesel’s crew and get a nice cushion in the coffers.”
“Rollback it is,” Deke said.
“All right, we still got some business to discuss. We need to talk about our newest additions and I’m not talkin’ members or prospects. Soon as Castle and Bones finish settin’ up the double-wide on one of the lots, gonna get Sig and Red moved in. The apartment is way too fuckin’ tight for five of them.”
“They should be done by Saturday with the set-up,” Rev called out from the back of the room.
“Okay, then we can get a crew together to move all their shit over there. That’ll leave the apartment empty for now.”
“I want it,” Whip said, stepping forward so he could stand in front of Trip.
“For just you?” Trip asked with his eyebrows pulled together.
Whip shook his head. “Soon as Sig’s moved into the double-wide, wanna get Fallon outta the motel.”
The room got dead quiet. Fallon had just come back to Manning Grove after whatever happened between her and Whip. No one knew the exact details but Easy knew she had a long sit-down with the sisterhood and after that, decided to stay.
But then, the sisterhood could be very fucking convincing.
“She wants to live with you, Junior?” Ozzy chuckled. “Don’t you got a mommy already?”
Easy felt Shade shift next to him. The age difference between him and Chelle was a lot greater than the one between Fallon and Whip.
“We ain’t doin’ that here, brother,” Trip growled at Ozzy. “You got a problem with Fallon?”
Ozzy shook his head. “Nope.”
“Then shut the fuck up.” Trip turned his attention back to Whip. “She gonna be okay livin’ in that apartment? Ain’t gonna be the kinda accommodations she’s used to.”
“She gave up all the fancy shit for a simpler life.”
“Can’t get more basic than that apartment.”
“It’ll just be ’til we figure somethin’ else out,” Whip assured Trip.
“She probably got enough scratch to go buy a house somewhere,” Judge said. “Or build one over in cluburbia.”
Cluburbia was the newly-coined term for the growing neighborhood on the other side of the tree line where a lot of Easy’s brothers were now living. Cage and Jem, Judge and Cassie, Rook and Jet, Rev and Reilly, and Dodge and Syn already lived over there, and soon Sig and Red would, too, with the three kids.
“Yeah, but she’s only stickin’ around about a month before she hits the road again.”
“She’s doin’ what?” Trip frowned.
“We’re still figurin’ out the details but she’s gonna continue doin’ a bit of travelin’.”
Judge frowned, too. “Without you?”
“You want me to tell her she can’t go?”
“You claimin’ her at the table?” Judge asked.
Whip hesitated.
“She gonna be your ol’ lady?” Trip prodded.
“We haven’t gotten that far in our discussions.” Whip’s jaw clenched tight.
“He’s prolly gotta do a little more ass kissin’ yet,” Ozzy said.
“You’d know all about that, wouldn’t you?” Whip shot the older biker a knowing look.
Dutch snorted so loud that it started laughter rolling through the group.
Trip, also trying not to laugh, raised his palms to quiet everyone down. “All right! C’mon now. Bustin’ on The Great Oz is fun as fuck but can we do it after this fuckin’ meetin’ is over. Let’s get through the serious business first.”
“Settle down so we ain’t here all fuckin’ night,” Judge bellowed.
Once everyone was quieted down, Rook spoke up. “Can see it becomin’ a problem for the club if we keep collectin’ strays. Can also see it drawin’ the attention of my ol’ lady’s family. Think about it. Red gave up Levi and now she and Sig are takin’ in three other kids that came outta nowhere?”
“First of all, they ain’t strays,” Sig growled. “They’re Red’s family. Which means they’re our fuckin’ family. And you know why she gave up Levi, asshole.”
Easy pretty much figured if Red was in the place back then as she was now, the decision to keep Levi would’ve been a no-brainer. But she wasn’t and it was the best thing for all of them. Especially with having Sig as her ol’ man.
They occasionally saw the boy around town and there was no fucking doubt that kid was loved and he landed where he was meant to be. Red also had an open invitation to visit him. She hadn’t yet but at this point it was more out of respect for Matt and Carly Bryson.
