Sue slid off the side of the bed, grabbing Davis’s T-shirt and pulling it over her head first thing. Davis had made her feel like the most beautiful person alive last night, but she still didn’t have the self-confidence to wander around naked.

As she padded toward the open door, she ran her fingers through her tangled hair. Good thing she hadn’t looked in a mirror yet. She would probably gasp in horror.

As she timidly entered the empty room attached to the master, she chewed on her bottom lip. Maybe she shouldn’t be snooping around like this. It wasn’t her house.

Davis was on the floor on his knees, holding a measuring tape across the expanse of the room. He had on gym shorts and nothing else. His hair was damp, making her wonder if he’d showered or worked out.

He must have sensed her standing there because he looked up and grinned. “Morning, gorgeous. I hope I didn’t wake you?” He dropped the measuring tape, letting the length of it slide back into place with a long squeal as he rose to his feet and came to her.

She shook her head. “No. I think I woke up on my own. I didn’t mean to interrupt you,” she said softly as she backed up a pace.

He reached out and snagged her around the waist, bringing her body against his and kissing her soundly before she guessed his intentions.

When he finally released her lips, he nuzzled her nose with his, still smiling. “You’re not interrupting me, Cherry. Besides, this is your room. Not mine. I woke up full of energy and worked out quickly. As I exercised a few ideas popped into my mind and I came in here to start measuring, but I probably shouldn’t have let my imagination get carried away.”

“You already worked out? And measuring for what?” she asked. His smile at her disjointed questions made her grin back at him. Davis obviously worked his mind as he powered through the moves that toned his body.

“Yes, and for your furniture.” He spun her around, flattened her back against his chest. He lifted his finger and pointed toward the right side of the room. “I figured we could put your crib over there.” He spun them both a few degrees to the left so fast she nearly lost her footing. “Your changing table over there.”

Davis kept talking but Sue’s heart was racing and she couldn’t hear the rest. It wasn’t until he leaned over and kissed her cheek that she twisted to look at him. “You really meant it when you said it would be a nursery.”

He nodded. “Yep. Sorry. I also mean it when I say I want you to be involved in the planning. It’s your room. I thought we could go to the furniture store today since we’re both off. We can pick out whatever you like.”

She blinked up at him. “You’re serious.”

His brows furrowed. “Of course, Cherry.” Davis took a step back and held her with his hands on her biceps. “Am I moving too fast? I’m so damn excited to have finally found you that I can’t wait to start the rest of my life with you in it.”

She swallowed. “How do you know?” she whispered.

He smiled broadly. “Daddies know these things.”

Sue forced herself to be brave and take another risk with him. This incredible man had already shown her there was more to life and relationships than her years being married to Troy. “I’d like to go shopping with you, Daddy.”

“Perfect. Showers, breakfast out, and an adventure.” Davis wrapped his arms around her and lifted her feet off the floor before whirling in a circle.

“Whoa!” she squealed before giggling at his excitement. “I think you have some fascination with circle celebrations.”

“Only with you, Cherry. Only with my Little girl. Now, we’re wasting time.” He set her feet down on the carpet and wrapped an arm around her waist to steer her back into the bedroom.

Halfway through their quick shower that wasn’t too rushed for sweet touches and kisses that melted her heart a bit more, Sue gathered her courage to voice the worry buzzing in the back of her mind, “I don’t think I need a changing table. We can take that off the list.”

“Daddies need a place to take care of their Littles,” Davis pointed out as he turned off the water and grabbed a towel.

“What do you mean?” Sue asked, not understanding how a table would be necessary.

“I’ll need to check your temperature. There will also be times when you are very Little.”

“Why do you need a table for that?” Sue pantomimed opening her mouth and putting a thermometer in it as Davis rubbed the towel over her skin.

He patted her bottom and commented, “Little girls don’t have their temperature taken in their mouths.”

Sue felt her eyes widen with shock as his meaning registered. “No way!”
