Her eye makeup was the smoky look women liked to do. Her lips had a shine and a slight pinkish tint to them that kind of matched her eyeshadow.

Her makeup wasn’t heavy, but again, like her hair, was sexy as fuck. She would look like a sex kitten if she didn’t have that steel edge to her.

But it was her ass…

Jesus.

But then, he’d always been an ass man. If the right ass caught his attention, it didn’t matter what the women looked like… at least, to a point, anyway. As long as he didn’t have to brown bag it, he was good. Face down, ass up was one of his favorite positions anyhow.

He pursed his lips as he watched the swing of her hips. It wasn’t overly exaggerated but tightly controlled as if she knew someone had eyes on her.

When Crew barked out, “Fletch!” he jerked his gaze from Nova just as she disappeared out the door.

Fuck, busted.

He turned to Crew, prepared to get shit for ogling a fellow task force member.

“Stick here for a few. Need to run something by you.”

Fletch nodded and Decker whacked him on the arm as he passed by. “I can take everyone down.”

“Okay. I’ll be down as soon as I’m done with Crew.”

“No rush. Maybe some will want to hang around for a bit to shoot the shit or a game of pool.”

Fletch walked back to where Crew stood by the conference table and they both watched the rest of the task force members file out the door. With just about everyone wearing boots, it sounded like a herd of elephants heading down the metal stairway outside.

When the door finally closed behind the last person, he turned to the DEA agent and braced, unsure why Crew wanted to talk to him alone. “What’s up?”

“Want to run something by you.”

Fletch raised his eyebrows and waited.

“It’s about going undercover. I know you’d prefer that over a lot of the other shit, like surveillance or wiretaps. Plus, you’re good at it. You’re like a chameleon and can blend in almost anywhere. I’m going to try to focus on everyone’s strengths and clearly undercover work is yours.”

“What are you thinking?”

“Using Jamison’s brother’s MC as cover.”

What the fuck? Fletch shook his head. “How?”

“I don’t have it all figured out yet because I’ll want more input from you, Jamison and Cross. But if we can manage it, want you to go undercover within their MC.”

“You shitting me?”

“No. They’ll have to agree, of course. Otherwise, you’d have to go in as a prospect without them knowing and there’s no guarantee they’d accept you. They might get suspicious since you’re thirty-five. No matter how we get you in there, we’ll have to create you a whole new identity and background, but I’m damn sure they do some thorough background checks before accepting a new recruit. We really don’t want those Shadows, who are tied to their club, digging deep if we can avoid it. Not to mention, the shit they’d probably put you through as a prospect to prove your loyalty could be…”

Dangerous and illegal. But Crew didn’t need to say that out loud. Fletch was perfectly aware what he’d have to deal with.

“Right,” Fletch murmured. In the past, he had no problem doing what he needed to do to not blow his cover. That didn’t mean he didn’t have his limits. Some lines he would not cross.

Prospects were basically an MC’s bitch during their first year or however long it took for them to prove themselves worthy to earn their full set of patches. It could be anything, even murder. And trying to figure out how to murder someone without actually doing the deed was a pain in the fucking ass. Same way with doing drugs in an undercover situation. Or, hell, participating in any felony.

An undercover agent had a pass to do some stuff but not just anything. And anything illegal had to be well-documented and only done for a good reason.

Being undercover wasn’t a free pass to commit murder and mayhem.

“So if we can pull it off, you’d go under as a patched member, wear their colors, live their life for a while and we’ll figure out an excuse for you to reach out to the Demons. The best part is the Demons would never expect the DAMC to allow a badge amongst them, so it would be a great cover. I may even want someone to go in as a prospect, too. But again, we’d need to limit the shit they’d do for that club. And the easiest way to get around that is by getting the DAMC’s cooperation.”

“You don’t think the Angels will run their mouths?”

“It’s a risk. But I’m thinking if we go to them and show how much our investigation will benefit them, they might be willing to work with us. We have to go in with solid info and plead a good case, because if they shut us out from minute one, then we could be screwed.”
