Could it be that the woman didn’t realize just how tempting she was? Or did she?

Was this a setup? Had she been purposely waiting for him in the hot tub? While naked?

She couldn’t have known when he was getting home. They hadn’t talked since early this morning at breakfast.

It had to be coincidence. Right?

Did working at that pizza shop turn him back into an awkward virginal teenager?

He was thirty-seven now, for fuck’s sake, and had plenty of experience with women. He also knew how to read them.

His eyes narrowed on the slight upward curve to the corners of her lips.

Oh yeah, she knew what the fuck she was doing.

“Let me see your hand,” he murmured.

She opened her eyes and extended the hand holding the wineglass. He grabbed both, downing the remaining wine. He put the empty stemless glass on the tub’s wider edge behind him, then turned her palm up, studying the tips of her fingers.

“Are you looking for evidence of a crime, Officer?” she teased, her fingers flexing in his.

“That would be Corporal to you, Ma’am. Give me credit for those two stripes I earned. But no, I’m just wondering how long you’ve been in the tub.”

“Long enough for the hot water and the wine to wash away any tension.”

When her fingers curled around his, she tugged him really hard, yanking him out of his seat. He could’ve resisted but…

It ain’t rocket science.

With the buoyancy of the water, it didn’t take much effort for her to pull him the short distance to her side of the four-person tub. Had they been on dry land, she would’ve struggled to move him since he had to outweigh her by a good fifty pounds, if not more. He also had at least ten inches on her. His best guess was she was around five-foot-three and a buck fifty at most. Most of that weight clinging to her chest, hugging her hips and padding those thighs.

Just how he liked it.

He might be a gym rat, but, personally for him, it wasn’t a turn-on to thrust into a female version of himself. He preferred his women luscious and squeezable. If he wanted to see a ripped body, he could look in the mirror.

While he had nothing against women who worked hard on building muscle and strength, it just wasn’t what he was attracted to. Like Monty. She kept herself in tip-top condition for her job as a corrections officer.

And Wilder. When not undercover as an ol’ lady, he imagined the FBI agent hit the gym hard and often to stay strong for her job.

Then there was Finn’s new woman, Mel, who kept herself strong and lean by working the pole at the strip club. Or used to, anyway, before the Demons “fired” her by dragging her across pavement.

Even though all three women were hot as fuck, none of them did it for him. He’d look, he’d appreciate, he’d compliment, but he would not pursue.

Now, Sloane on the other hand…

She jerked him out of his thoughts by standing up, planting both hands on his chest and pushing him into her formerly occupied seat with a splash.

“I’m not sure what’s going on here.” He had a pretty good inkling but didn’t want to assume shit.

“Do you need a manual to figure it out?”

Damn. So much for trying to be a gentleman. A feat in itself. “Sloane…”

One eyebrow rose slightly. “Are you rethinking your choice to join me?”

“Should I?”

“No.”

“Then no.” Even so, in no way had he expected his night to end like this. His simple ass had planned on grabbing a beer, climbing into bed and watching a late-night talk show on the new TV he had placed in the spare bedroom until he fell asleep.

He had not planned on hot tubbing with a horny woman. Admittedly, she was better at planning than he.

Sloane dropped her hands to his wet shoulders and used them for balance so she could straddle his thighs and sit on his lap facing him. As she did so, his hands were automatically drawn to her hips to assist her.

Since he wouldn’t want her to slip.

Yeah, that was exactly why.

It turns out he was right about those luscious curves, he had no problem getting a good grip on them.

“You feeling okay?” He really needed to make sure about the direction his night was about to take.

He never took anything for granted when it came to sex, even though Sloane was completely naked and was using his equally naked lap as a seat.

“You tell me, am I feeling okay?” She shifted in a way that did not help contain the blood to his brain.

His growing erection was proof she felt perfectly fine. But that wasn’t what he meant. “You’re not at all loopy from the mix of heat and wine?”

“Not at all,” she repeated in a whisper, locking her gaze with his, almost nose-to-nose.
