He slams my back against the wall again, moving in closer to seal us tightly together. He wraps one of my braids around his hand and tugs my head back and to the side.
Licking from my shoulder to my ear, he doesn’t miss a beat. Fuck it. I’ll take my punishment because there’s no way I’m not coming.
“Oh shit, babe,” I call out as I gush around him, my walls tightening on his shaft.
“My hardheaded girl. Didn’t I tell you not to come?”
He places my ass on the edge of the headboard and drops to his knees. I cling to his hair as he eats my pussy like his last meal. I wonder if royalty is born with a special talent for sex?
Maybe it’s just my prince.
“I’m going to fuck you until you can’t breathe. You’ll never run from me again. Your legs won’t work to carry you away from me,” he hisses in my ear.
I come again from his words alone. If he thinks I’m complaining, he’s crazy. I take my lumps like a big girl for the rest of the night, well into the morning.
Make-up sex is at the top of my list of all-time favorites. Fights and make-up sex are a monthly must. It will be my first law as princess. Wait, do I get those?

Princeton
The sun is rising and she’s fast asleep. I’ve been reflecting on all the things that have happened over the last month. I could be angry with so many people, but I don’t think I’d change a thing.
She was well worth the wait and all that came with it. I kiss her forehead and go to climb from the bed. I have something I need to do.
I pull on my pants and collect my phone. I move out to the living room. It’s the perfect time to do this.
“Hello.”
“Good morning, Your Highness.”
“Princeton. Do you have her?”
“Yes, Queen Nia. She’s safe and sound.”
Cinder’s grandmother releases a tired sigh. She is up there in age, as is her husband. Although Cinder has cousins, she’s next in line for the throne. This has been a long time coming.
“Does she know?”
“Yes and no. She knows she’s a princess. She doesn’t know about the throne. I can leave that for you to tell her if you like,” I say.
“It might be best coming from you. She doesn’t know us,” she says sadly.
“Actually, I was calling to get the king’s permission to ask for her hand. I know she was meant to be my betrothed. However, with everything, I wanted to make sure—”
“You’ve waited to claim her as yours for a long time. I can hear in your voice that you care for her. We enjoyed the time we spent with you. You’re a fine young man.”
“My husband and I approve of your union. Go on, claim your princess. We’ll be here waiting to meet her when you return for the engagement ball,” she replies.
I chuckle. “Word travels fast.”
“Indeed it does. See you soon.”
I end the call and stare out the window at the street below. I can’t help the smile that comes to my lips. We have so much planning to do. So much is about to change.
“What throne?”
I spin to face the direction her voice comes from. She looks sleepy and sexy in my shirt. I move across the room to her. When I reach her, I tug her into my arms.
“You are next in line to be queen. Just as I’m next in line to be king. Your grandparents are waiting back home to meet you.”
Her eyes grow wide and her knees buckle. I’m right there to catch her. I hold her close.
“You’re lying.”
“Nope, looks like you’re going to have to keep me from becoming even more entitled. Such titles can go to the head.”
She straightens and shakes her head. “You know what? Come on. I need a dose of reality right about now.”
“Where are we going?”
“Gray’s, I need a hot dog. Doesn’t get more New York than that. That will bring my ass back down to earth.”
I roar with laughter. Yup, just what I needed. She’ll keep me grounded.
CHAPTER 18
New Event
Cinder
I look up from my desk to find Princeton leaning in the doorway of my office. It’s only been two months since all of that drama and returning to Fru Fru Palms to meet my grandparents and attend our engagement ball. It was all overwhelming and I needed to return to New York to regroup.
However, we’ve become closer after it all. I’ve learned to live in the moment more. It helps for transitioning through all the changes.
“What are you doing here?”
“I can’t come to see my princess?” he asks with a grin and a lifted brow.
“I thought you had that meeting across town.”
“Yes, I did, but I have someplace I’d rather be,” he says and pushes off the door.
