“I was thinking about you this morning,” I tell him, letting him see the fire in my eyes and just how good it really was.

He steps even closer, the front of his pants pressing right up against my core as his warm hands drop to my thighs, gently squeezing. “Oh yeah?” he questions, hunger flaring in his obsidian eyes.

A noise in the next room pulls my attention away, and I glance over Levi’s shoulder to watch as our new nanny scrambles through the open foyer and toward the stairs that lead up to Roman’s wing of our massive home. Her gaze swings in our direction and she falters, gaping at the way Levi has me on the counter before stuttering out a quick hello and snapping her gaze back to the grand staircase before her.

“Shit,” I sigh, staring after her. “This one’s not going to last.”

A heaviness settles into my chest. Being who we are, it’s not exactly been easy finding a good nanny. Hell, we’ve been struggling with it for years. Either the boys run them off or Sebastian accidentally lets his true colors shine brightly and they run away, terrified he might slit their throat while cooking him breakfast.

It’s a never-ending battle. But hell, there could be worse things for me to have to complain about. So far, I think we’re doing alright. Between the four of us, we always find a way to figure it out.

Marcus hovers behind me in the kitchen, sorting out something for us to eat as Roman strides in, a smirk resting on his warm lips when his gaze meets mine. He rolls his tongue over his lips, and I know he’s remembering the taste of my arousal on his tongue, and the sight of him alone has me clenching everything below the border.

Levi rumbles a soft laugh before dropping his lips to the base of my throat, more than ready to take me right here on the kitchen counter, but considering Sebastian will undoubtedly come racing through the house at some point, he reluctantly controls himself.

Jumping down from the counter, I hastily get myself a coffee before slipping my feet into my heels and checking my reflection in the oven to make sure everything looks just right. Over the past few years, I’ve taken on the position as the head of the Moretti family, and I do what I can to look the part. There’s nothing quite like a powerful pantsuit, perfectly tailored to my body, paired with the most stunning red-bottomed heels. I’m my own wet dream.

It’s a busy day today. We’ve had reports that the Dragoni mafia family has been making waves, moving in on our territory, and anyone who knows us will know that shit simply won’t fly. The DeAngelis and Moretti mafia family have control of nearly the whole eastern seaboard and are rapidly expanding, just as it should have always been. Sure, we’ve ruffled some feathers along the way, but any competition would have seen us coming, and if they were smart, they would have backed away gracefully. Unfortunately, some are not always as smart as others and demand to be taught a lesson.

The Dragoni family is the perfect example of that.

Howling laughter tears through the house, and I roll my eyes, knowing exactly what’s coming. Dill and Doe come racing through the living room, their big bodies knocking everything over as Sebastian clings to Dill’s back, riding him like a fucking horse.

“I’M READY,” Sebastian hollers through the house, falling off Dill’s back and crashing into the side of the couch before bolting to his feet, more than ready to do it again as Roman fixes Dill with a hard stare, bringing the giant wolf to an immediate stop.

Then seeing his father, Sebastian comes running right into Roman’s arms. He scoops him up, placing him on the kitchen counter to straighten his uniform, making sure he looks respectful enough to walk out of this house with the weight of the DeAngelis name on his back.

“Perfect,” I say, leaning across and pressing a kiss to his cheek. “Have you packed your school bag?” I ask.

He glances away, and I take that as a big, fat whopping no, and when he refuses to look back at me, my brows furrow. Roman notices it too and is quick to take Sebastian’s chin, lifting his son’s gaze to his. “What is it?”

Sebastian swallows hard, and I don’t miss the way both Marcus and Levi stop what they’re doing and give him their undivided attention, the best uncles a little boy could ever ask for. “I don’t like her,” he huffs.

“Who?” I ask, searching his face.

“Chelle. The new nanny,” he hisses, his brows furrowed with irritation and reminding me of the woman’s name. “She said my mommy and daddy are going to hell and then held her cross necklace at me and started saying weird things.”
