I tried to shake my head. I didn’t want to leave the firehouse.
“Don’t worry,” Daddy Jacob said, softly. He definitely said that, so the other parts must have happened too. “You can stay here as long as we all think it’s a good idea.”
“Okay, Daddy,” I said, snuggling up again and feeling my consciousness start to slip away once more. Contentment filled my chest. Then I thought maybe I had imagined the part about my clothes, and I got a tiny bit anxious. “But…”
I could hear Daddy Jacob’s smile, just in the single syllable, “What?”
Joy rushed back into me. I knew he liked me. Really liked me.
“I can have clothes tomorrow, Daddy? You said that, right?”
Daddy Jacob chuckled. “Yes, honey. Panties and a nightshirt.”
“Oh, yay,” I breathed, and I let exhaustion claim me. My last thought before sleep was that I must have started out on the path of rehabilitation, if that was all it took to make me happy.
Panties, and a nightshirt, and two huge, gorgeous firefighter daddies. That’s all.
